GreatGoldNews – Do you remember the first time you heard the warm, melodic voice of Roberta Flack singing “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” on your radio? Was it back in 1972, the year it reached number one in the United States, Canada, Australia and was heavily played in many other countries around the world? That recording was unforgettable, but more importantly, it was magical and had an air of a one-on-one sharing of a richly personal memory. However, it was one of many such magical, musical journeys from the unmistakable, melodious voice that was that of Roberta Flack.
Roberta Flack had recorded songs several times before that did not have such a huge stir in the musical world, but Roberta Flack’s biggest entry finally happened in 1972 with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. That hit recording was followed by many other recorded performances, including “Where is the Love” (also 1972), a duet with Donny Hathaway, “Killing Me Softly with His Song” (1973), and “Jesse” (1973), which was written by Janis Ian on Roberta’s Killing Me Softly album, followed by “Feel Like Making Love” (1974), “The Closer I Get to You” (1978), again with Donny Hathaway, then “If Ever I See You Again”, and many more.
The incredible voice of Roberta Flack can only be heard now from recordings into the future since her passing away February 24, 2025, and, of course in the playlists of radio stations over the air and streaming internet radio stations like GreatGoldMusic.com, the home of GreatGoldRadio.com. – GreatGoldMusic.com

THE MUSIC HEARD on GreatGold Internet Radio is curated, cataloged, processed into digital for listening on the internet, researched, programmed, presented, and announced by Gary W. Morgan, a more than 30-year veteran over-the-air radio broadcaster, now doing it on the internet.
Before getting involved in internet radio, Gary’s broadcast radio career from 1966-2002 included on-air experience as a broadcast radio announcer, personality, music director, program director, commercial continuity director, commercial copywriter, commercial production specialist, news reporter, news director, radio rock show host, on-air interviewer, news anchor, radio talk show co-host, and advertising salesperson.
UPON RETIREMENT from broadcast radio in 2002, Gary entered the world of The Internet with excited fervor. During the first six years he was involved in providing webmaster duties as well as news and information content, images and logos to websites. After which, he started this GreatGold Internet Radio station as the original GreatGold.fm in 2008, to satisfy his need to get back to playing the greatest rock and pop hit music just as he did during much of his early career. It’s now GreatGoldRadio.com at GreatGoldMusic.com since we lost the right to renew the original name in 2023 through a red tape snafu in the renewal process when an original co-founder died.
