John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, has issued the following statement: “This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates.” Sykes claims, “These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
Most of the music library of GreatGold.fm Internet Radio consists of songs by artists already members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The rest of the songs in the GreatGold.fm Internet Radio library consists of tunes by bands and singers destined to be in the Hall Of Fame. We at GreatGold have already begun playing some of the 2023 nominees that have been in our library for decades, as designated by the image shown next to this paragraph.
The top five artists selected by the public will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to determine the 2023 Inductees. The “fans ballot” will be tallied along with Nominee ballots sent to an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry. The 2023 Inductees will be announced by the Hall of Fame in May, 2023. The details of the Induction Ceremony will be announced when available.
An artist’s musical impact and influence on other artists, length and depth of career and body of work as well as innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration.
