Twangin’ Duane Eddy Bites the Dust

The guitar magic of Duane Eddy can be heard on such hit favs as “Rebel-Rouser” in 1958, “Ramrod” (1958), “Cannonball” (1958), “Peter Gunn” (1959-1960), “Forty Miles of Bad Road” (1959), “Some Kind-A Earthquake” (1959), “Bonnie Come Back” (1960), “Shazam” (1960), “The Ballad of Paladin” (1962), “(Dance With The) Guitar Man” (1962), “Boss Guitar” (1963), and a remade version of “Peter Gunn” [Remake with The Art Of Noise] again in 1986, which made it into the top 10 around the world, and became a Grammy winner for the Best Rock Instrumental of 1986.

His career that followed, included live performances, and back-up band performances in recordings by himself and other starring artists until 2024, the year he passed away.

The King of the Twanging Guitar died April 30, 2024 at the age of 86 in Franklin, Tennessee, USA. His music goes on forever in the Classic Hits music library at GreatGold Classic Hit Oldies, and similar streaming music outlets on the internet and in music apps throughout the world.
